Are private judges the future of Florida Litigation?

An interesting concept! Retired Judge Paul Siegel (second from left) discussed how hiring a “Private Judge” can be a convenient and cost-effective to in-court litigation. Judge Siegel was educated at the University of Miami, receiving a BS in Physics magna cum laude in 1958 and an LL.B. (later replaced by a J.D.) cum laude in 1962.

After twenty-six years of private practice as a general litigator in Miami, in 1991 Paul was appointed to the Circuit Court in Miami and served there for nineteen years in the Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions. He retired on December 31, 2010 because of the age limit in the Florida Constitution, but looks forward to continuing to try cases as a private judge.
